Summer Giveaway with Jord

Hello, lovelies! It’s been a while. Life has been crazy lately! I have been trying to balance my Photography and Coaching businesses on top of being a mother and a wife. I plan on revamping my entire website soon and will be posting much more often, so keep an eye out for what’s to come!

I find that I’m usually running late (yes, I’m that mom!) and always having difficulty keeping track of the time now that Charlie is all over the place. I also tend to misplace my phone, so wearing a watch is really the only thing I can rely on when I have somewhere to be or need to keep track of time.

I have partnered with my friends at Jord (maker of handcrafted wooden watches) for a giveaway for my followers! Jord sent me the Frankie 35 Series in Dark Sandalwood and Slate and I am absolutely in love with it! I am a neutral color girl, so I love when I can wear an accessory with multiple outfits. The rose gold details pop beautifully against this slate gray color.

I am definitely a watch person and this is a great quality timepiece. It is so versatile and can easily be worn casually or dressed up. The wood is so lightweight on my wrist and doesn’t make me sweat in the hot Florida sun like my leather watches tend to do. Jord makes men’s, women’s, and unisex watches. They are great for gift giving, and if he doesn’t wear it- you can! the giveaway: enter your name and email address. You can also follow Jord on Instagram for an additional entry. The lucky winner will receive a gift code for $100 towards a purchase from the Jord website. What’s makes this giveaway even better is that everyone else will receive a code for $25 off of a purchase just for entering!

A New Thing

Have you ever been in a place in your life where you felt as if you were in the wilderness? And not just for a brief time, but for a very long time? In fact, the weight of walking in the wilderness for so long was taking a toll on your relationship with the Lord, with your friends, and the calling you know that He has on your life?

This is something I have personally been experiencing for a while now. It has been a crazy year for my family. We welcomed our first child into the world just over a year ago and the delivery was a scary one. Two months later, my husband ended up in the hospital and had to have surgery on his lung. Between adjusting to motherhood with a newborn, taking care of my husband, and recovering from my own traumatic delivery- it was easy to remain in that place. A place of loneliness and doubt.

During that time, the enemy was doing a number on my mind. Anytime I thought about getting involved in ministry again or continuing with the things I was doing before my daughter was born, he would tell me that I ‘wasn’t good enough’, I ‘wasn’t needed’ or that I ‘lost the anointing’. And for a while, I believed him. I struggled with friendships. I had a hard time being intentional about reaching out to other women and building relationships. I was afraid to be honest about my struggles and feelings because I didn’t want to be judged or misunderstood. All of that was another lie. The enemy wants us to look at other women and compare our lives to theirs. He wants us to feel discontent and secluded in our struggles.

By the Grace of God, I have moved forward and taken a leap into the plans that are laid out before me. For so long, I was bound by confusion not knowing what God wanted to do with my life. I began to believe I was no longer needed or not good enough to be used by Him. I was making excuses and waiting for the heavens to open and an angel to appear to me and tell me what I was supposed to do. Don’t we all wish that it were that easy? Instead, He was patiently waiting on me. The Holy Spirit is so persistent, yet gentle. Giving me dreams and visions, ideas and plans. All that needed to happen was for me to step out boldly and make the first move. Once I did that, everything began to fall into place and was orchestrated so beautifully. He never ceases to amaze me.

“Remember not the former things,
nor consider the things of old.
Behold, I am doing a new thing;
now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?
I will make a way in the wilderness
and rivers in the desert.” -Isaiah 43:18-19

While I felt that I was alone in this wilderness place for so long, He was there. He never left, but He was waiting like a gentleman. It doesn’t mean that He won’t work through us right where we are without asking us to do a new thing. Some seasons will require us to do the hard work of waiting patiently. It is when we go into a season of trying new things with an open heart that we leave room for God to grow us and mold us to be more like Him.

A great friend shared this verse with me and it pierced my heart-

“Arise, for it is your task, and we are with you; be strong and do it.” -Ezra 10:4

While doing some studying on this scripture, I also found this parallel verse-

“Be careful now, for the Lord has chosen you to build a house for the sanctuary; be strong and do it.” -1 Chronicles 28:10

When you feel a tug on your heart to begin something new, be it a ministry, a bible study, a new friendship, whatever it may look like- step out in faith. Throw off the lies of the enemy and ARISE. For it is YOUR TASK. You are CHOSEN. He will be with you. Be STRONG and DO IT!

I am going to be launching a new virtual Life Coaching group called the ‘Craving Connection Life Group’. This group will empower women to strengthen their relationship with Jesus, make new meaningful friendships like we are created to do, and step into the plan that God has for our lives. It is important that we stand together and encourage one another through life’s daily obstacles and through our walk with The Lord. There is power in numbers and we are stronger together.

“And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him—a threefold cord is not quickly broken.” -Ecclesiastes 4:12

Floral First Birthday

Since party design is in my blood, naturally, I was very excited to style Charlie’s first birthday party. I have an obsession with everything floral, so it didn’t take long to know that was what I wanted as the theme. I wanted to keep everything simple and feminine, and it all turned out beautifully. It was a wonderful day to celebrate the birth of our girl!

The dessert table was the focal point of the room. We had so many delicious desserts and of course- flowers everywhere! Fresh eucalyptus and pink peonies were my choices of flowers and greenery.

I purchased a journaling Bible to give to Charlie when she gets older. I am going to fill it with words of wisdom and highlight special verses for her in the meantime. I had it at the party for friends and family to leave something meaningful for her to one day look back on.

No party is complete without bubbles and mini party hats!

(Sorry- this picture was taken from my phone at the end of the party)

I made this floral hoop with her 1-12 monthly photos to match the hoops I made for the dessert table. Guests loved being able to see side-by-side photos of how much she has grown and changed.

She wasn’t too sure about the cake at first, but it wasn’t long before she was eating fistfuls at a time!

Charlie is One

On Friday, my daughter turned a year old. I still can’t wrap my mind around the fact that it has been an entire year since she has entered this world. One year that our lives have been completely turned upside down. One year of tears, one year of laughter. One year of nursing, and one year of the least amount of sleep I have ever gotten. One year of teaching, one year of watching you grow and learn. One year full of amazing memories.

Part of me is sad and wants you to stay little forever. Although I wish I could keep you a baby, I am truly excited to continue to watch you grow. You are the most amazing little person I have ever known and you have taught me so much over this last year. You have taught me to be patient, understanding and shown me that I could love to a capacity I had never known possible.

I always wanted children, but you have shown me motherhood in a whole new light. Ever since you have been in my life, I have felt a new purpose. A new calling. I feel like being a mother is my thing. I used to be afraid that I was unprepared. That I wouldn’t be a good enough mom for you. Sometimes I still have these thoughts and worries, but not often. I love being a mother. I think I can do this. I know I can. I am ready for whatever lies ahead because you make being your mother so easy. Some days are hard, don’t get me wrong, but you are so worth it. You are the best friend I have spent my life praying for. I love you and your father more than anything and you two fill a space in my heart that I never knew existed.

Thank you for giving me the best year of my life. I love you, my sweet Charlie girl.

Galentine’s Day Party Guide

Happy February! To kick off the month, I teamed up with my friend Alexa of to put together a fun Galentine’s Day post to give you some inspiration if you’re looking to host a party this year. Galentine’s Parties have been a cute trend for the last few years now- and it’s a great excuse to throw a party with your girlfriends and indulge in some delicious treats!

We had a great time playing around with pinks, reds, glitter, and all things girly.

Strawberry frosted donuts make the perfect Galentine’s dessert! Who doesn’t love donuts? Include some fresh strawberries to add a splash of red!

This tablecloth was a DIY. We wanted something more monochromatic that would still pop and look girly enough for our party. We picked up a plain white plastic tablecloth, some black washable paint, and simply added ‘X’s and ‘O’s. It was so simple and turned out really cute!

Candy hearts and rose petals spread across the table runner added a sweet and festive detail.

Adding pink cotton candy to our glasses tied things together. Pour your drink of choice for a sweet and girly treat!

Thanksgiving Outfit Inspiration

Living in Florida can be a bit of a bummer around this time of the year. Not having different seasons really limits your wardrobe. Fall is my favorite because I love boots, hats, and huge comfy sweaters. Unfortunately, I can never predict what the weather will be like for Thanksgiving each year so I like to have something festive to wear even if it won’t be chilly. Here are a couple of outfit ideas if you’re looking for some inspiration!

In this first outfit, I paired this orange-y dress with some black suede over the knee boots. I picked this dress up from a boutique in Colorado and was drawn to the detail in the ties and the lace. Over the knee boots are a hot trend this season and will continue to trend throughout the winter. I purchased these during the Nordstrom anniversary sale and have been so excited to break them out. They are comfortable and can easily be dressed up or down.

For the second outfit, I matched this gorgeous deep burgundy drop waist dress with some booties. I purchased this dress from the same boutique in Colorado. The color is perfect for fall and it pairs nicely with a pair of boots, some heels, or flats. These western style buckle boots have been a favorite of mine this season. They are so versatile as well and look good with almost anything. I finished this outfit off with a bolo choker necklace to tie in the white print and the western style booties.
